في المجلد الأول، يكشف المؤلفان عن ثلاثية النبوة والشراكة والهندسة في جوهر كتاب ابن مقلة. توفر تحليلا مجزرا بالكامل للمبادئ الهندسية للخط الإسلامي المنقولة من خلال النصوص الباقية والمصادر الرئيسية المخطوطة. يفحص الشبكة الهندسية للمربع والدائرة والسداسي التي تشكل ضربات قلم كل حرف، ويستكشفون كيف تظهر النسبة الذهبية داخل مصفوفة الشبكة. يدرسون تطور نظام ابن مقلة في سياق العلوم والفنون والخط في بغداد في القرن العاشر.

يتناول المجلد الثاني من هذا العمل الموسوعي الطبيعة الروحية للهندسة وكيف تحكم بنية الأشكال التسعة عشر الأساسية التي تشكل 28 حرفا من الأبجدية العربية، وربطها ب “لام ألف”. استنادا إلى الأسس النظرية التي وضعتها المجلد الأول، يشرح المؤلفان كيف يبنى كل من الأشكال الأساسية التسعة عشر، كاشفين عن العملية التي تعمل بينما يحول القلم، بتوجيه يد الإنسان، الأشكال الهندسية الصلبة إلى أشكال عضوية مرنة وحيوية.

In the first volume, the authors reveal the triad of prophecy, partnership, and geometry at the core of Ibn Muqla’s book. They provide a fully illustrated analysis of the geometric principles of Islamic calligraphy conveyed through the surviving texts and key manuscript sources. They examine the geometric grid of the square, circle, and hexagon that informs each letter’s pen strokes, and explore how the golden ratio appears within the grid matrix. They study the evolution of Ibn Muqla’s system within the context of the sciences, arts, and calligraphy in tenth-century Baghdad.

The second volume of this encyclopedic work addresses the spiritual nature of geometry and how it governs the structure of the nineteen basic shapes that form the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, connecting them to “Lam-Aleph.” Building upon the theoretical foundations laid out in the first volume, the authors explain how each of the nineteen basic forms is constructed, revealing the process at work as the pen, guided by the human hand, transforms solid geometric shapes into flexible, vibrant, organic forms.
